End of an era in West Nashville: Businesses closing to make way for apartment development (fox17.com) — West Nashville's CITYBLOX at oneC1TY, home to small container-based shops and sand volleyball courts, will close at the end of 2026 to make way for a 313-unit NOVEL oneC1TY apartment project. Remaining businesses like KOKOS Ice Cream, Nosh Desserts, Sandbar, and Aloha Fish Company face relocation questions as neighbors worry about losing a beloved community hub and dealing with future parking and construction impacts.
   

2. Nashville restaurant 312 Pizza on brink of closing, receives help from mayor, community (fox17.com) — A beloved Nashville spot, 312 Pizza, has narrowly avoided closing after Mayor Freddie O'Connell and local supporters stepped in with short-term help. The family-run restaurant now has only a couple more weeks guaranteed, and is urging neighbors to come dine, donate to its GoFundMe, and share its story while owners work to secure a long‑term future.
   

3. American Airlines Renumbers Nashville Flight In Honor Of Dolly Parton (whiskeyriff.com) — Nashville travelers could soon be flying into an airport named for Dolly Parton, as state leaders and Metro Nashville officials back renaming BNA in her honor. While the airport authority will debate the proposal September 17, American Airlines has already renumbered its Dallas–Nashville route to Flight 925, a nod to Parton's classic hit "9 to 5."
   

4. Nashville schools offer AI safety talk for Catholic families (ewtnnews.com) — Catholic families in Nashville are being invited to a Sept. 17 "Catholic Family's Guide to AI Safety" talk at Christ the King School, focused on protecting children from AI chatbot risks. Speaker Megan Garcia, whose son died after using an AI companion, will share practical guidance, while related Catholic institutions nationwide highlight broader efforts around AI, ethics, and education.
   

5. Longtime Nashville advocate Ludye Wallace reflects on decades of service to his community (newschannel5.com) — North Nashville residents are reminded of Ludye Wallace's decades of advocacy, from fighting for basic infrastructure on Jefferson Street to leading the local NAACP. Now 86 and in long‑term care, he's still focused on protecting North Nashville's character and pushing for fair treatment and investment in the community he's long served.
