Metro Council member looking into Antioch nightclub after stray bullet kills Sam's Club worker (wsmv.com) — A Sam's Club worker on Antioch Pike was killed early Sunday when a stray bullet from an argument linked to nearby LAVO Lounge pierced the store's wall, prompting scrutiny from Nashville's Metro Council. Council Member David Benton says he's reviewing the nightclub and pushing for more police funding, as Metro Police investigate and the club stresses its cooperation and security measures.
   

5. Nashville just had its hottest start to September in a century (wsmv.com) — Nashville is sweltering through one of its hottest starts to September in more than a century, with temperatures running nearly 10 degrees above normal and a Heat Advisory in effect today. After several days near 100 degrees, forecasters expect more intense heat over the next week before a possible cooler, less humid pattern arrives around the third weekend of the month.
