What To Do With Kids Indoors

While the skies are blue the air is crisp, but you better be careful cause the ground is still slick! This I know after a fall the other day, no need for worries, I am okay! Are you? Our organization began in a small Northwest suburb of Chicago in 2007 when I (Joni) was a teaching assistant in an elementary school and Piloted the characters. The characters earned a National Promising Practice Award (only two were awarded in Illinois) and I took a leave of absence to form a 501(c)(3) NFP organization. I thought it would be easy and boy was I fooled, but, 19 years later my heart is so full!

We have published over 30 books with our nine characters, brought them to life in costumes, created Superhero Character building activity boxes and impacted thousands of children in these important messages. We have donated our Superhero boxes to the Monroe Carell Jr. children's hospital at Vanderbilt, the East Tennessee Children's hospital, the Robertson County YMCA and the Rutherford YMCA, Fort Campbell Army Base early learning center, Shriner's in Chicago, Ann and Robert Lurie's Children's hospital and Comer's Children's children hospital, all within the last four years.

Characters of Character NFP continues to grow, we have moved here to Tennessee after receiving a grant from the Nashville Predators a few years ago. The band Chicago, Lauren Akins and Thomas Rhett, Fall Out Boy, Chris Stapleton, Overwatch Alliance and other Foundations, Coca-Cola, Meijer, Northwestern Medicine and more have supported our Superhero boxes and if you would like to learn more, visit us on line and let us know!
