Funds Raised For Family Of 2 Boys Killed In Cedar Park Wreck

GoFundMe campaign seeks to help family patriarch deal with expenses related to traffic accident that left his sons dead, wife injured.

CEDAR PARK, TX β€” A fundraising campaign has been launched to financially help the family of two boys killed and a driver injured in a accident in Cedar Park last week.

Elijah Chaudhary, 9, and Daniel Chaudhary, 1, were both killed in a two-vehicle crash at Whitestone Boulevard and Walton Way on Jan. 1o. The driver of the car in which the children were traveling, Zara Salman, 32, is in a coma following the accident.

A longtime friend of the family has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help the family patriarch handle funeral expenses for the boys, medical costs for his wife and related expenses. According to the person launching the crowdsourcing campaign, the injured mother is unaware her children died since being hospitalized at St. David's Round Rock Hospital.

The father, meanwhile, is having to deal with mounting bills related to the tragedy while working at a temporary job as an IT contractor, according to the fundraiser.

"He is in tremendous need of our help, to cover his wife's medical expenses (high insurance deductibles, therapy costs, etc.), funeral expenses for his kids, lost wages for few months etc.," the friend wrote. "He is going through a lot, burying his kids while his wife doesn't know anything yet. He still have to face his wife, with this tragic news when she came out of coma."

At last check, the campaign has raised $2,030 of a $45,000 goal among 16 donors in its first day since being launched.
