Austin Is Nation's 2nd Best City For Millennials: Report

COMMERCIALCafé researchers analyzed the top metros across several metrics to find the best ones for members of the youthful demographic.

AUSTIN, TX — Austin is the nation's second best city for millennials, according to a new study.

The appeal of Austin to members of the generation of people born in the 1980s and 1990s can be seen in the numbers, with statistics of their influx illustrating a robust migration from other parts of the country. Construction of housing across the city yields further evidence of their presence in the capital city.

A new study by COMMERCIALCafé makes it somewhat official, ranking the city in the top 10 metros for millennials to live and work. Basing its study on U.S. Census data, researchers ranked the metros based on seven indicators, including millennial population growth; regional price parity; millennial unemployment rate; percentage of millennials with employer-based health insurance; and commuting time.
