Travis County Coronavirus Update: 3 More Deaths, 76 More Cases
The number of cases of the coronavirus in Travis County grew by 76 on Friday from the day before, health officials reported.
AUSTIN, TX — The number of cases of the coronavirus in Travis County grew by 76 on Friday from the day before, health officials reported, as the region continued to see fatalities grow.
To date, there have been 4,314 cases of coronavirus in the county. The fatality count crossed increased by three on Friday, bringing the countywide total to 104. The data were updated on a statistical dashboard maintained by Austin Public Health.
Officials noted that 3,380 patients have recovered from illness since contracting the virus.

Health officials also reported 134 people have been hospitalized, including 49 in intensive care units and 27 placed on ventilators. According to the dashboard, Hispanics continue being disproportionately impacted by the illness, representing 59 percent of the total while comprising some 34 percent of the Travis County population.

County health officials only recently moved to expand testing sites in the county to enhance chances of testing among disproportionately affected minorities — namely black and Hispanic residents.

- 1-9: 89 cases
- 10-19: 242 cases
- 20-29: 970 cases
- 30-39: 954 cases
- 40-49: 763 cases
- 50-59: 566 cases
- 60-69: 338 cases
- 70-79: 203 cases
- 80+: 172 cases
