Local leaders aim to revive the springs, pool, Victorian garden, and historic features, while adding signage and stories that reconnect residents with one of the nation's oldest public parks.
   

2. 353,000 customers impacted by storm; What lessons did CPS Energy learn? (news4sanantonio.com) — CPS Energy is rolling out several changes after a powerful storm left about 353,000 San Antonio-area customers without power and caused widespread damage. Utility leaders told their board they'll improve outage updates, work more closely with neighborhood groups, and let customers submit damage photos, as they brace for a possible 'super El Niño' that could bring even worse weather to San Antonio.
   

3. 'Driving on I-35 is absolutely terrifying': San Antonio drivers say highway debris is a constant hazard (ksat.com) — San Antonio drivers are increasingly worried about dangerous debris littering I-35, I-10, Highway 90 and other local highways, despite TxDOT's regular sweeping and litter pickups. Residents describe dodging mattresses, couches and even car doors, and are urged to secure their loads and report debris through TxDOT's website so crews can target problem spots around town.
   

4. Man shot by 10 San Antonio police officers identified; records reveal prior deadly weapon (news4sanantonio.com) — A 29-year-old man shot by 10 San Antonio police officers on the West Side remains hospitalized but is expected to survive, and investigators have now identified him and detailed his prior criminal record. The shooting followed a report of an armed man near Ruiz Street and ended in a Kozy Korner Saloon parking lot, with SAPD and Internal Affairs conducting parallel reviews.
   

5. Where flood threat is growing as a cold front moves across Texas (mysanantonio.com) — Heavy rain and possible flash flooding are in the forecast for the San Antonio area later this week as a slow-moving cold front settles over Central Texas. Meteorologists expect several inches of rain, with some models suggesting up to half a foot or more, and warn residents from San Antonio to the Hill Country to stay alert for changing flood conditions.
