'It’s Devastating’: After Shooting, High School Waits For Answers

Three people are dead and multiple others wounded after a 15-year-old student armed with a handgun opened fire Tuesday at a Michigan high school, authorities said.

The suspect, a sophomore at Oxford High School, shot 11 people, including a teacher, within five minutes, police said. Three students — a 14-year-old female, a 15-year-old male and a 17-year-old female — were killed. Eight other people were injured.

John Lyman of Rochester Hills Fire said 25 agencies, 60 units and two helicopters were sent to the school. Multiple patients were brought to various hospitals in the area.

Tim Throne, superintendent of Oxford Community Schools, told reporters Tuesday he was shocked.

Kim Potter Trial: Jury Selection Starts

Jury selection began Tuesday in the manslaughter trial against former Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, police officer Kim Potter. Potter was charged with first- and second-degree manslaughter charges in connection with the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Daunte Wright. Dr. Oz Makes Senate Bid

Celebrity physician Dr. Mehmet Oz announced Tuesday he will run for a Pennsylvania U.S. Senate seat, instantly becoming the most well-known candidate in the race. "We have not managed our crises as effectively as past generations,” Oz said. “During the pandemic, I learned that when you mix politics and medicine, you get politics instead of solutions.
