NEW YORK, NY —Tennis legend Martina Navratilova revealed on Monday that she has throat and breast cancer, The Associated Press reported.

Navratalova, 66, in a statement, described her prognosis as good and said she will begin treatment this month, the outlet reported.

“This double whammy is serious but still fixable, and I’m hoping for a favorable outcome," Navratilova said in her statement to AP. "It’s going to stink for a while but I’ll fight with all have I got.”

She told the outlet that in November she noticed an enlarged lymph node in her neck while attending the season-ending Women's Tennis Association finals in Fort Worth, Texas, and a biopsy showed cancer in an early stage.

The breast cancer is unrelated and was discovered while Navratilova was undergoing tests on her throat, she told AP.

Navratilova is an 18-time Grand Slam singles champion and member of the International Tennis Hall of Fame, according to AP.

In 2010, she was diagnosed with a noninvasive form of breast cancer and had a lumpectomy, the outlet reported.

Navratilova, who has worked as a TV analyst in recent years, told AP that she would not be a regular part of the Tennis Channel's coverage of the Australian Open “but hopes to be able to join in from time to time” by video conference.
