Trump Plans To Sign Border Deal, Avoid Government Shutdown: CNN
President Donald Trump reportedly plans to sign a border deal and avoid the government shutdown.

WASHINGTON DC — President Donald Trump plans to sign a new border deal that will avoid a government shutdown. The deal calls for far less funding for a barrier wall between the U.S. and Mexico than he initially demanded.
When asked whether he'd sign the border deal Tuesday, Trump responded he was "not happy" with it. The agreement calls for just under $1.4 billion for a border barrier, CNN reported. Trump had called for $5.7 billion.
The government would shut down again Friday if Trump does not sign off on a deal.

Trump faced mounting pressure from his own party to sign the agreement. On Tuesday, Trump said he would need more time to study the plan. But he also said he wasn't expecting another shutdown this weekend and suggested he would try to find additional money for the wall from other federal coffers.

"I can't say I'm happy. I can't say I'm thrilled," Trump had said of the deal. "But the wall is getting built, regardless. It doesn't matter because we're doing other things beyond what we're talking about here."
