I am an Ahmadi-Muslim. I grew up Christian, in Canada, but I became n Ahmadi-Muslim after I read the Holy Qur'an. Despite the fact that I have read most of the great world literature, without a doubt, the Qur'an overwhelmed me with its beauty and grace. It is a perfect book. While I love Shakespeare, Keats and Blake, not one of them could show the same consistent beauty that I saw in the Qur'an. As a Christian, I merely lived by the principles. What I yearned for, was to learn and use prayers that would help me combat darkness that I could feel and see around me. Islam gave me the armor--the prayers--to protect my soul. Now, I understand Christianity and Islam much more clearly than I did before. Instead of praying through Jesus, I pray to God directly. I see the world through my religion. It is clear-sighted and beautiful, like looking through a prism that spreads light.
