The Second Stage Main Hall, once known as the Sanctuary of the old Amherst Baptist Church, was constructed in 1882, holding the record for second oldest religious structure still standing in Amherst, VA. We believe that continued use of historic structures anchors healthy communities and that access to the arts and culture enriches the fabric of community life.

We believe that citizen participation makes a difference in the lives of both the individual and their community, and success of small, local businesses contributes to a community's ability to thrive.
