The Indiana native turned Alexandria resident talks about breaking pageant barriers as a married woman and mother, while using her national platform to spotlight foster care challenges and advocate for children entering new homes with dignity.
   

5. Capital Force Youth Chorus (alxnow.com) — Families with musically inclined teens can now register for Capital Force, the Alexandria-based youth chorus run by the Alexandria A Cappella Collective. Open to singers in grades 7–12 from the DC region, the group rehearses in Alexandria, offers a try-it-first rehearsal, and will perform locally and on a major international barbershop stage in February.
