• Man arrested following indecent exposure incident in Altavista (wsls.com) — Altavista police say a man from Hurt has been arrested after allegedly following and exposing himself to a local resident at multiple businesses in town, and he’s also charged in a separate Sept. 28 sexual battery case in Altavista. Residents with any information are urged to contact Altavista Police, as the suspect is being held without bond while the investigation continues. 
• Buffalo Gap golf qualifies for Class 1 state tournament (newsleader.com) — Altavista High’s golf team placed behind several rivals at the Region 1B tournament, carding a 391 as Buffalo Gap and Smith Mountain Lake Christian advanced to the Class 1 state championship. While Altavista didn’t qualify this time, the results highlight how local golfers stack up regionally ahead of the Oct. 13 state tournament in Tappahannock.
