• Campbell County, Virginia, expands no-sort recycling as landfill pressure grows (thecooldown.com) — Campbell County is expanding no-sort recycling at four collection sites, a change meant to ease resident drop-offs and extend the life of the Region 2000 landfill in Rustburg, which could reach capacity by 2029. Rustburg’s supervisor says residents oppose expanding the landfill, so the county is testing these new compactors and machine-sorting to save money and reduce what ends up buried there.
