Assault With Spatula Leads To Malicious Wounding Charge In Arlington
An Arlington man is accused of striking someone with a spatula and causing injuries after a dispute in Rosslyn, according to authorities.

ROSSLYN, VA — A 27-year-old Arlington man is facing a malicious wounding charge in connection to an alleged assault in the Rosslyn area on Saturday evening, according to authorities.
Arlington County police officers responded just before 6 p.m. to investigate the report of an assault in the 1800 block of Norther Scott Street.
An initial investigation revealed that a man and a woman were outside when they began to argue with that suspect, who they say struck the victim with a spatula, causing a laceration, according to police.

The victim received minor injures and was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel, according to ACPD.
The suspect, identified as Joshua Moore of Arlington, had left the scene briefly. But, returning a short time later, Moore was arrested and charged with malicious wounding, according to the incident report. He was then released on his own recognizance.

Moore is scheduled to be arraigned in Arlington General District Court at 2 p.m. on Thursday, according to court records. A preliminary hearing has not be set.
Malicious wounding is a Class 6 felony. If convicted on this charge, Moore faces a possible sentence of one to five years in prison and fines up to $2,500, under the Code of Virginia. At the court's discretion, the sentence could be lowered to up to 12 months in jail and fines of up to $2,500.
