Bomb Threat: Police 'Sweeping' Bishop O'Connell High School
Arlington County Catholic school may have been part of a group of schools called Friday by "robo caller," police spokesman says.

ARLINGTON, VA -- Students at Bishop O'Connell High School in Arlington have been evacuated Friday afternoon after a bomb threat was called into the school, according to an Arlington County Police spokesman.
"We're sweeping the building now," said Lt. Kip Malcolm, with Arlington County Police. About a dozen K-9s are part of the operation he said; the large response at the school included police from Metro Transit, Park Police and Pentagon Police.

The large response was before police realized that several other calls were made to other schools in the region in what Malcolm said was likely a "robo call" situation.

Students from Bishop O'Connell, a Catholic school, are safe at Arlington County's nearby Tuckahoe Elementary School, Malcolm said; Tuckahoe was open due to a teacher work day, he said.
The City of Falls Church was also on high alert Friday afternoon, evacuating students at George Mason High School after a bomb threat was called in there at about 11:30 according to spokeswoman Susan Finarelli.
Malcolm said police will also sweep George Mason using Arlington County K-9s.
