Cake Love Closes Its Shirlington Village Store

Cake Love, the bakery offering up cupcakes and more, has closed its Shirlington Village store. The store closed on Dec. 31, according to an employee at its U Street store, which is the only store that remains open of the locations listed on its Web site.

Here’s what the company posted on Facebook and on its Shirlington site:

Thank you to all of our loyal supporters who visited us in The Village at Shirlington (Arlington, VA) over the past seven years. It’s a wonderful community which we’re sorry to leave, but we have closed that location in order to scale up production of our Cake in a Jar. Please continue to visit our original retail location at 1506 U St., NW Washington, DC 20009 for all of your birthday cakes and cupcake fixes. Our Cake in a Jar is available at 30 local retailers in the DC-MD-VA area, including Whole Foods Market Old Town and Whole Foods Market, Arlington, VA and Lebanese Taverna Market in Arlington. More details to come!
