Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Dulles After Bird Strike
An American Airlines flight from Reagan National had to make an emergency landing at Dulles after a bird strike.
ARLINGTON, VA — A flight departing from Reagan National airport was forced to make an emergency landing at Dulles International Airport after a bird strike Wednesday evening, according to reports.
American Airlines flight 4411 was making its way to Fort Myers, Florida, just before 5 p.m. when the plane hit a flock of birds during takeoff. The plane was diverted to Dulles International to make an emergency landing shortly after takeoff.
The plane taxied to the gate at Dulles successfully, and none of the 56 passengers were hurt.

The bird strike damaged the plane, but it’s not known at this time how extensive the damage is, an American Airlines spokesperson told WUS9.
