Man Bites Finger of Arlington Medic Who Tried to Help Him: Police

Jorge Luis Quintero-Amayo, 28, also faces five counts of assault on police and other charges.

ARLINGTON, VA — A man has been arrested after getting physical with police officers and then biting the finger of a medic who was evaluating him for injuries.

Police were called to the 4700 block of Lee Highway at around 9:52 p.m. on April 3 to a report of a "disorderly subject inside a restaurant," according to a report from the Arlington County Police Department.

The officers took 28-year-old Jorge Luis Quintero-Amayo of Temple Hills, Md., outside and as they were conducting their investigation, he became "combative and assaulted multiple officers," the report states.

"Once in custody, the subject bit the finger of an Arlington County Fire Department Medic attempting to evaluate him for injuries," the report adds.

Quintero-Amaya faces five counts of assault and battery on law enforcement, and single counts of assault on medical personnel, resisting arrest, obstruction of justice, and failure to ID.

He is currently being held without bond.
