• Local Announcement: CCPTA Launches "Fill the Break" Out-of-School Food Security Fundraiser! (patch.com) — A new countywide "Fill the Break" fundraiser is raising money to help Arlington Public Schools students access food during weekends, holidays, snow days and long breaks when school meals aren't available. Local families, businesses and PTAs are invited to donate online or by check, with a friendly competition between school PTAs and micro-grants funding efforts like snow-day food packs and grocery gift cards.
   

• An Evening with David Ignatius (arlnow.com) — Arlington residents can hear Washington Post columnist and spy novelist David Ignatius speak at Van Metre Hall in Mason Square on Tuesday, October 6, at 7 p.m. Hosted by George Mason University's Hayden Center, the evening includes a moderated conversation on intelligence and foreign affairs, audience Q&A, a reception, and an option to watch via YouTube.
   

• Arlington, VA: Goofball On Eads St Uses Turn Lane To Head The Wrong Way Into Oncoming Traffic (tiremeetsroad.com) — Dashcam footage from S. Eads Street and 20th Street S in central Arlington shows a driver mistakenly using a turn lane to head straight into oncoming traffic. Shared widely on Reddit, the clip has sparked plenty of online commentary and serves as a reminder that driving on the wrong side of the road in Arlington can bring a $100 fine and four demerit points.
