Oktoberfests, Beer Festivals Coming To Northern Virginia This Month: 2026 Guide

From traditional Oktoberfests to a craft beer bash, Northern Virginia offers several opportunities to raise a stein this October.

NORTHERN VIRGINIA — Oktoberfest season isn't over yet. Several celebrations are planned across Northern Virginia in October, bringing German beer and food, stein-holding contests, live music and other fall festivities.

Here are some of the events happening around the region this month.

Vienna Oktoberfest — Oct. 3

Where: Historic Church Street and Town Green, Vienna
When: Saturday, Oct. 3, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Admission: Free

One of the region's larger Oktoberfest celebrations returns to downtown Vienna with a beer and wine garden, food and three stages of entertainment.

  • German and international food
  • Live music on three stages
  • Artisan and vendor market
  • Children's activities
  • Free shuttle service

A physical ID is required to purchase alcohol; digital IDs won't be accepted.

Oktoberfest At Astro Beer Hall — Oct. 3

Where: Astro Beer Hall, 4001 Campbell Ave., Arlington
When: Saturday, Oct. 3, 5 to 7 p.m.
Admission: Free

Astro Beer Hall in Shirlington wraps up its Oktoberfest celebration series Saturday with Port City Brewing.

The event includes:

  • Port City beer
  • Stein-holding contest
  • Music and giveaways
  • Beer-and-pretzel specials
  • 10% discount for guests wearing lederhosen or dirndls

Oktoberfest At Westover Market — Oct. 3

Where: Westover Market Beer Garden, Arlington
When: Saturday, Oct. 3

Westover Market's outdoor beer garden is among the Arlington establishments closing out Oktoberfest season Saturday.

Oktoberfest At Surreal — Oct. 3

Where: Surreal, Crystal City
When: Saturday, Oct. 3

Surreal in Crystal City is also holding an Oktoberfest celebration Saturday, one of several Arlington-area events extending into the first weekend of October.

Alexandria Bier Garden Oktoberfest — Oct. 3-4, Oct. 10

Where: Alexandria Bier Garden, Old Town Alexandria
When: Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 3-4; finale on Saturday, Oct. 10

Old Town's Alexandria Bier Garden is continuing its Oktoberfest weekends into October with German beer, large steins, traditional food and contests.

Expect:

  • German beers and giant steins
  • Pretzels, schnitzel and sausages
  • Oktoberfest music
  • Stein-holding contests
  • Bier garden and rooftop seating

The Oct. 10 finale includes a stein-holding championship at 3 p.m. The restaurant is also holding Oktoberfest-themed karaoke nights Oct. 2 and 9 at 9 p.m.

ROCKtoberfest — Oct. 10

Where: Reston Town Center, Reston
When: Saturday, Oct. 10, 5 to 11 p.m.

Reston puts a rock-and-roll spin on the traditional beer festival with ROCKtoberfest, combining craft beer with an evening of live music.

This year's event features:

  • Craft beer
  • Sip & Stroll
  • Live music
  • A headlining performance by Vertical Horizon

Oktoberfest Market — Oct. 17

Where: Fairfax Corner, 4100 Monument Drive, Fairfax
When: Saturday, Oct. 17, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Admission: Free

Fairfax Corner will host an Oktoberfest-themed artisan market featuring more than 40 vendors.

The event will include:

  • Oktoberfest-inspired food and drinks
  • Live music
  • More than 40 vendors
  • Fall shopping and artisan goods

Oktoberfest Renaissance Festival — Oct. 17

When: Saturday, Oct. 17, 1 to 6 p.m.

For anyone who thinks Oktoberfest needs more chainmail, this celebration blends German-style festivities with a Renaissance festival. Visit Fairfax lists the event among the county's October celebrations.

The afternoon is expected to feature:
