Cookie chain Chip City shutters all locations, including in DC region (wtop.com) — Chip City has closed all its cookie shops, including its Arlington location, but local customers can still use their Chip City gift cards and coupons at MidnighTreats in Ballston Quarter, 4238 Wilson Blvd., Level C, through Oct. 14. The Ballston bakery stepped in after the national chain cited economic headwinds, promising no "Cookie Monster" in Arlington goes unserved.
   

2. Bishop O'Connell vs Mira Costa (maxpreps.com) — Bishop O'Connell's volleyball team in Arlington narrowly fell 2–1 to visiting Mira Costa in a non-league matchup but still carries an impressive 25–1 record into its next contest. 3. 'Merrily' is for Sondheim super fans, the uninitiated, and anyone in between (washingtonblade.com) — Signature Theatre in Arlington is staging Stephen Sondheim's "Merrily We Roll Along" through Nov. 1, with tickets starting at $47. 4. Broadway's upcoming 'Galileo' features Potomac native Michael Mainwaring (thebanner.com) — Potomac native Michael Mainwaring, who once worked at Signature Theatre in Arlington, is heading back to Broadway this fall in the new rock musical "Galileo."
