'Real Housewives' Stars Ashley And Michael Darby Have Big Plans for Arlington
As Oz Restaurant gathers momentum, the Darbys have other ideas for Arlington's foodies.

It's been an adventure running trendy new Australian dining spot Oz Restaurant in Arlington while appearing on Bravo's "Real Housewives of the Potomac," but Ashley and Michael Darby say there's still a lot they want to do to shake up the food scene in the city.
Oz, at 2950 Clarendon Boulevard, has gone through some growing pains in the last year or so, as they've had to replace their head chef and general manager. But now that they have Brad Feickert -- who worked under Ben Shewry at the world-famous Attica restaurant in Australia -- running the kitchen, the Darbys appear confident that they're on the right track.
"Some people can't adjust to it -- she's done a phenomenal job," Michael said of his wife.

Ashley said it's been a big learning experience for her, and a good one, "even though this one has had its share of challenges," she said.
"Oh my gosh, if I could tell 25-year-old self what I know now -- leaps and bounds," she said.

There's still lots of work to be done with Oz as it's still in its infancy, but they already have ideas for what's next.
"We want to have a food truck for the pies," Michael said, referring to one of his favorites on the menu at Oz: miniature pies stuffed with beef, lamb and other savory ingredients.
There's also a kangaroo jerky that Ashley describes as "out of this world." Rather than keeping that to the restaurant, Ashley and Michael are thinking of packaging it and selling it. "So there's other options that can happen," Michael said.
And there's one other possibility out there, although perhaps a bit farther off: the cabaret Ashley wanted to open in the vein of Mango Mike's in Miami that her husband talked her out of in favor of Oz.
"Fingers crossed for that one," Ashley laughed. "I'm not going to give up."
