Surprise: Valet Parking Coming to Pentagon City Mall This Friday

Visitors to the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City will have valet service available starting this Friday in a surprising new announcement -- and if you show up on the first day, you may score a swag bag and even a $150 gift card.

Mall management announced today that valet parking will be available to shoppers starting Friday, June 3, at the Hayes Street mall entrance in conjunction with the major renovation ongoing there, according to a statement.

"A valet service has been something we’ve wanted to implement for many years now," Todd Jerscheid, director of marketing and business development at Fashion Centre at Pentagon City, said in the statement. "As we prepare for the renovation completion later this summer, we couldn’t think of a better time to launch the program! We know this will be a huge hit for our shoppers, especially around the busy holiday season and as they begin to really experience all of our new features and services!"

Simon, the company that operates the mall, will be offering complimentary swag bags to the first 50 shoppers who use the service on Friday, and two randomly selected shoppers will get a $150 Simon gift card. In addition, valet shoppers can take advantage of special promotions throughout the month of June.

What's it going to cost you? Not much, actually: just a $5 fee in addition to regular parking rates in the garage -- although that doesn't account for tips. The parking service is available from 10 a.m. until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays.

The Fashion Centre at Pentagon City is in the midst of a 50,000-square-foot expansion and renovation, and several new tenants have already opened their doors, including Shake Shack and Garrett Popcorn Shops.
