Weapon, Grand Larceny Charges Levied Against 2 Teens: ACPD
Arlington County police arrested two teens during a Fairlington traffic stop early Saturday, as part of a stolen vehicle investigation.

ARLINGTON, VA — Two juveniles are facing weapon and grand larceny charges after being arrested by Arlington County police during a traffic stop early Saturday morning in
Officers responded just before 9:30 p.m on Friday to 13th Road South and South Rolfe Street in the Arlington View area to investigate the report of a stolen vehicle.
A few hours later, a patrol officer spotted the stolen vehicle and conducted a traffic stop just before 2:30 a.m. at Quaker Lane and 32nd Road South in Fairlington, according to the incident report. The officer then detained the vehicle's two occupants.

An investigation revealed that the passenger of the vehicle, whom police describe as a juvenile male in his teens, had a concealed, loaded handgun with an extended magazine, ACPD said. The passenger was charged with possession or transportation of certain firearms by persons under the age of 18, carrying concealed weapons, carrying loaded firearms in public areas prohibited and purchase or transportation of firearm by persons subject to protective orders.

All four charges are Class 1 misdemeanors, which are each punishable by up to 12 months in jail and/or a $2,500 fine, under the Code of Virginia.
The police also charged the driver, described as a juvenile male in his teens, with grand larceny auto, which is a Class 6 felony in Virginia. If convicted, the driver could be sentenced to one to 20 years in prison or up to 12 months in jail and/or a $2,500 fine.
