Manassas Park Man Arrested On I-495 Faces DWI Charge: FCPD
Fairfax County police arrested two men Saturday after a vehicle crashed into two FCPD cruisers parked on the right shoulder, reports say.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — A Manassas Park man was one of two drivers arrested early Saturday after a vehicle crashed into a pair of Fairfax County Police cruisers on Interstate 495 in Annandale, according to authorities.
Around 4 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on I-495 just before the exit to Little River Turnpike. The officers suspected that the driver of the vehicle, identified as 23-year-old Marlon Somoza Quinonez of Manassas Park, was driving while intoxicated, according to the incident report.
As the officers we conducting field sobriety tests, a vehicle driven by 21-year-old Edwin Guzman Aguilar of Bealeton struck the officers' two cruisers, which were parked on the shoulder, according to FCPD. No injuries were reported.

Both Somoza Quinonez and Guzman Aguilar were arrested and taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
Police charged Guzman Aguilar with driving while intoxicated second offense within five years. He was later released on a $2,500 bond.

Police charged Marlon Somoza Quinonez with driving while intoxicated second offense within five years, and driving after forfeiture of license. He was later released on a $15,000 bond, according to police.
Somoza Quinonez is scheduled to be arraigned at 9:35 a.m. on Feb. 3 in Fairfax County General District Court and has a preliminary hearing set for 9:30 a.m. on April 29, according to court documents.
Both the DWI and driving after forfeiture of a license are Class 6 misdemeanor, which carries a possible sentence of up to 12 months in jail and a fine of up to $2,500, under the Code of Virginia. He was also charged with refusing to submit to a blood or breath test, which is a civil violation and is usually punished with a fine.
Incidents like this underscore the dangers officers and motorists face during roadside stops and traffic incidents, according to FCPD. Drivers are reminded to remain alert, slow down, and comply with Virginia’s Move Over law to help protect emergency personnel and others traveling our roadways.
