Ashburn Woman Cited for Using Pepper Spray

Road-rage dispute led to rush-hour assault, says Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

A road rage incident during the evening rush hour on Wednesday reached a climax in a convenience store parking lot, when an Ashburn woman used pepper spray on one of the two drivers involved, Loudoun County police said.

Sarah Hussain, 28, was issued a summons for simple assault, according to a report from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office. She was a passenger in one of the two vehicles in the dispute.

Sheriff’s deputies responded at 6:11 p.m. Wednesday to the report of an assault in the parking lot of a convenience store in the 43900 block of Pipeline Plaza in Ashburn. Two men had pulled into the parking lot after the road-rage incident.

They exchanged words and one of the men pushed the other, the sheriff’s report said. Tempers cooled, and one man walked away and went into the store. The other started to drive away when Hussain allegedly came up to his window and pepper sprayed him.

The sheriff’s office reported no injuries in the incident.
