• Consultant presents redistricting scenarios to School Board (pmg-va.com) — Big Island families are directly affected as a consultant tells the Bedford County School Board that some schools, including Big Island Elementary, are underutilized while others are overcrowded amid long-term enrollment decline. With Stewartsville Elementary already set to close, officials are weighing redistricting and possible additional closures, and have scheduled October public meetings and an interactive online tool for community feedback.
