• Spanberger appoints two Eastern Shore residents to state boards (shoredailynews.com) — Cape Charles farmer Jared Yaros has been appointed to the Virginia Potato Board, giving the town a direct voice in statewide decisions affecting the potato industry. Alongside him, Willis Wharf psychologist Dr. Jesse Wingate will serve on the Virginia Board of Psychology, part of a broader slate of appointments announced by Gov. Abigail Spanberger. 
• Two sentenced in Northampton Court (shoredailynews.com) — Residents may want to know that a Cape Charles woman was recently convicted in Northampton Circuit Court of misdemeanor embezzlement from the local Shore Stop, with most of her eight‑month jail sentence suspended. The same court session also sentenced an Accomack man to active prison time on cocaine and marijuana distribution charges stemming from a 2025 Eastville incident.
