• Notice of application for operating authority (henricocitizen.com) — A new transportation company is seeking state approval to run passenger service that would include Colonial Heights, along with nearby cities and counties, plus Medicaid non-emergency medical transport across Virginia. Residents who might be affected can formally protest the application by mailing detailed written objections to the DMV by June 5, 2026.

• Virginia DEQ expands drought warning to 94 counties, 33 cities (wric.com) — Colonial Heights is now officially under a state drought watch advisory as Virginia environmental officials expand warnings to most of the Commonwealth. Residents are urged to prepare for ongoing dry conditions, with soil moisture reported as much below normal despite recent rain. The update underscores that nearly all of Virginia is now under either a drought watch or warning.
