It’s one of five troubled Central Virginia nursing homes changing hands, raising questions about future care quality and oversight for vulnerable residents.

Hopewell father charged in infant's death was ordered to complete anger management months before (wtvr.com) — Hopewell authorities have charged a local father with felony homicide after his 5‑month‑old son was found unresponsive at a Rodeway Inn on June 14 and later died from suspected shaken baby injuries. Court records show the man had a prior assault case with a missed anger‑management requirement, and he’s due back in Hopewell court Thursday on the new charge.

Federal indictments in prison smuggling using drones (classiccitynews.com) — Hopewell residents should know that federal prosecutors say a large, multi-state drone-smuggling ring allegedly dropped contraband into FCC Petersburg in Hopewell as part of 38 suspected prison deliveries.
