Chef Jamie Leeds to Open Hank's Pasta Bar in Alexandria

Restaurant will be a new culinary path for Leeds, who owns three Hank's Oyster Bars in Alexandria and DC.

Hank’s Oyster Bar chef and owner Jamie Leeds plans to work her magic on pasta in Alexandria, according to papers filed with the City planning office.

Hank’s Oyster Bar, named for Leeds’ father, serves up New England beach fare classics and has three locations, one on King Street in Alexandria and two in DC. Leeds opened the first Hank’s Oyster Bar in 2005 and it has gone on to win numerous culinary awards and earned acclaim from Gourmet, Bon Appétit and Food & Wine.

The new restaurant, which will feature Italian cuisine, will be called Hank’s Pasta Bar and will be located at the corner of Montgomery and N. Saint Asaph streets in the Old Town North neighborhood. Renovations will be made to the interior and the kitchen equipment will be upgraded, according to a special use permit application.

Italian restaurant Villa d’Este has closed its doors at the location, as of March 31.
