Racists Target Black Teens In NASA Competition: Reports

It was supposed to be a wonderful accomplishment: Mikayla Sharrieff, India Skinner, and Bria Snell, students at Benjamin Banneker High School in D.C., had earned attention from NASA for a system that removed lead from drinking water in schools. But they were soon targeted by racists online who were angry that African-American girls were being recognized, and tried to hack the system so they couldn't win.

Virginia Prisoner In North Korea May Be Freed Soon: Reports

Three American prisoners held in isolated North Korea, one from Fairfax, Virginia, may be released soon as relations thaw between the dictatorial regime and the West, according to reports. Kim Dong-Chul, of Fairfax, reportedly was sending medical aid to the impoverished country.

As Virginia prepares for the November midterm elections, the State Board of Elections approved a number of policy changes aimed at clarifying the voting process and making ballots easier to understand.
