More Intel on Mancini Restaurant's Replacement

After the recent closing of Mancini’s Cafe & Bakery, a longtime restaurant in Del Ray, local residents are wondering what’s next for the space.

Although we had some details in September (read: Mancini’s to Close, But New Plans Afoot) based on papers filed with the City, Northern Virginia magazine has the scoop in a recent story.

Here are more details about what’s coming to 1508 Mt. Vernon Ave.:

• The name of the new restaurant will be Junction Bakery & Bistro, in a nod to the Potomac Yard railway workers of the past.
• It will open in Spring 2016
• The new restaurant will look different, after it is “stripped down to her bones.”
• The bistro will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.
