Del Ray Italian Restaurant Piece Out To Temporarily Close For Expansion
Piece Out, an Italian restaurant owned by the St. Elmo's Coffee Pub owners, will close for an expansion project.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Italian restaurant Piece Out is saying "peace out" to Del Ray, but not forever.
The Ponzi family, which owns Piece Out along with St. Elmo's Coffee Pub, Market 2 Market and Cafe Pizzaiolo in Alexandria announced it will close Piece Out temporarily for an expansion project. The restaurant had opened in July 2020 at 2419 Mount Vernon Avenue, the former location of Catch on the Ave. It serves pizzas, pastas, sandwiches, sides, desserts and more.
The last day for Piece Out until it reopens will be Sunday, May 28.

"We have loved getting to know each and every one of you and serving the Del Ray neighborhood and beyond!" the Ponzi family wrote in a message to customers. "In fact, we love it so much we want to make it better!"
The owners plan to renovate and expand the business to "give our staff a better home" and "customers a better experience."

In the meantime, customers are encouraged to visit the owners' other businesses: Cafe Pizzaiolo, St. Elmo’s, and Market to Market in Alexandria and Red Drum in Outer Banks, North Carolina.
