1 Charged For Attempting To Steal Merchandise From Home Depot

City of Fairfax police charged one of three individuals trying to steal merchandise from the Home Depot on Old Fairfax

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — City of Fairfax Police charged a man with petit larceny after he and two other individuals were caught cutting merchandise out of its packaging and trying to conceal the items while they were at the Fairfax Home Depot store, according to a police report.

Officers were dispatched around 3 p.m., on Tuesday, to the hardware store located at 3201 Old Lee Highway. Thestore declined to press charges against two of the individuals, opting instead to charge the person who had stolen the highest value of merchandise, according to police.

After issuing trespassing notices to all three of the subjects, police arrested Alexander Manuel Villanueva-Medrano, 22, of no fixed address. Police transported him to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with petit larceny and held on $500 secured bond.

Although Villanueva-Medrano did not have a form of identification when he was taken into custody, deputies at the jail were able to identify him, according to police.
