1 Person Received Minor Injuries And 2 Were Displaced Due To Fire At Fairfax City Home
Fairfax City firefighters quickly extinguished a kitchen fire that extended into the attic space of a residence on Mosby Woods Drive.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — One person received minor injuries and two people were displaced due to an early morning fire at a residence off of Plantation Parkway on Saturday, according to a City of Fairfax spokesman.
Units from the City of Fairfax Fire Department were dispatched around 2:36 a.m., to 10167 Mosby Wood Drive, where they found an active kitchen fire extending into the attic space of a residence there. Fire crews were able to quickly bring the blaze under control.
One occupant was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to the spokesman. No other injuries were reported.

Damage caused by the fire displaced two occupants, who were offered assistance.
While firefighters worked to put out the fire, City of Fairfax Police closed Plantation Parkway between Fairfax Boulevard and Mosby Woods Drive for several hours. The road later reopened to traffic.

As of midday Monday, the Fairfax City fire marshal was still investigating the cause of the fire.
