2024 Restaurant Week: Commonwealth Brewing Co. New Dining Destination

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Even though Commonwealth Brewing Co. has only been open for four months, it's become a go-to destination for craft beer and pizza in Old Town Fairfax.

"We really strive to be a community gathering space," general manager Emily Wells told Patch recently. "The owner fell in love with the opportunity to bring families and friends together over a love of great craft beer," Wells said. "We host monthly events to keep the things interesting and give people a reason to celebrate and gather outside of regular holidays."

Commonwealth Brewing Co. is one of the 24 restaurants and bars in Fairfax City that will be participating in the 2024 Restaurant Week, which runs from Feb. 26 through March 3.

"Restaurant Week is that nudge our residents get twice a year that says dining out is a community event. Trying new restaurants, or trying new offerings at favorite places, is something we can do together and we invite other people to join us too,” said Fairfax City Mayor, Catherine Read. “Dining in the city can be a culinary trip around the world without needing a passport.”

During Restaurant Week, Commonwealth will be offering a $25 lunch special, which includes Pimento Bacon Grilled Cheese with Spicy Tomato Bisque, your choice of salad or boardwalk fries, and a beer.

"I love that you can spend an entire day just walking along Main Street," Wells said. "We have so much to offer in the downtown area. You can grab coffee, go shopping, take your dog on a walk through Old Town Square, and wrap up the afternoon on our patio enjoying pizza and a pint of amazing craft beer."
