2 Women, 1 Man Found Fatally Shot Inside Locked Bedroom At Fair Lakes Apartment
Fairfax County detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of two women and one man found dead inside a Fair Lakes apartment.
FAIR LAKES, VA — One man and two women were found dead in a locked bedroom inside a Fair Lakes apartment on Tuesday morning.
Police responded around 10:31 a.m. to a 911 call from a woman requesting a welfare check of a family member at an apartment in the 4200 block of Mazarin Place in Fairfax.
"When we arrived on the scene and knocked on the door, a roommate came out and let us into the apartment," Executive Deputy Chief Brian Riley of the Fairfax County Police Department told reporters Tuesday afternoon. "They said to us that the person we're looking for should be in the back bedroom."

The officers tried to enter the bedroom, but the door was locked and barricaded, Riley said. Police asked for help from Fairfax County Fire and Rescue. Using a ladder, an officer peered into the bedroom and saw what appeared to be three deceased people.
"We made entry forcibly into that back bedroom, at which time we found an adult male and two adult females suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds," Riley said.

The three were pronounced dead at the scene.
Four hours into the investigation, police believed that the three dead people were the only ones involved in the shooting. The roommate, whom Riley identified as an adult woman, is considered a witness and not a person of interest at this time.
"Our detectives are investigating right now what all took place by interviewing witnesses," Riley said. "But at this time, there is no danger to the general public whatsoever."
When asked if police received any reports for the sounds of gunshots, Riley said officers would be knocking on doors and asking neighbors if they heard anything over the last 24 hours.
