7th Annual Food For Thought Fundraiser Supports Mental Health Services

GMU Center for Community Mental Health provides affordable, accessible and culturally sensitive mental health services to the DMV community.

FAIRFAX, VA — Mason’s Center for Community Mental Health, which was formerly called the GMU Center for Psychological Services, will be hosting its Seventh Annual Food for Thought fundraiser on May 2.

"The mission of the GMU Center for Community Mental Health is to provide affordable, accessible and culturally sensitive mental health services to the DMV community, while training the next generation of behavioral health providers," center Director Robyn Mehlenbeck told Patch.

In addition to commemorating the start of Mental Health Awareness Month, the event will raise money to fund free community health programs and emotional support. It will help the center to expand its emotional support lines to include Spanish.
