FAIRFAX CITY, VA — A 54-year-old Fairfax City man was held on a secure bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with abduction, according to police.

On Sept. 5, around 6:53 a.m., officers from the City of Fairfax Police Department responded for the report of a man acting erratically in the common area in the 10200 block of Aspen Willow Drive. The person who contacted police said the man was a resident of the neighborhood.

After failing to find the suspect, officers tried to make contact with the man at his residence but failed, according to police.

A short time later, a person who lives at the same residence spoke with officers at police headquarters. That person told police they had heard the officers knock on the door, but they were intimidated by the suspect, who told them to not answer it, police say. No injuries to the person who came to talk to police were reported.

After obtaining a warrant for abduction against the suspect, the officers attempted to serve the warrant at the home on Aspen Willow Drive, but the suspect ran off. The officers found and arrested the suspect, whom they identified as Charles Perks of Fairfax. Servicing Perks with the abduction warrant, the officers took him to the ADU for processing.
