Anti-Drunk Driving Nonprofit Hosting Fundraiser In Fairfax City
The Sept. 18 fundraiser for the Washington Regional Alcohol Program will feature an appearance by former Washington Redskin Ravin Caldwell.
FAIRFAX CITY, VA — The Washington Regional Alcohol Program, a NoVA-based nonprofit, will host a “Football & Fundraising” event Sept. 18 in Fairfax City to benefit the organization’s anti-drunk driving initiatives. The event, planned at Glory Days Grill from 6-9 p.m., will feature a silent auction, door prizes and and an appearance by former Washington Redskin Ravin Caldwell.
The Washington Regional Alcohol Program a coalition that uses effective education, innovative programs and targeted advocacy to end alcohol-impaired driving and underage drinking in the Washington, D.C. metro area. Through public education, health education programs and advocacy, WRAP is credited with historically keeping the metro area’s alcohol-related traffic deaths lower than the national average.
Caldwell played for the Washington Redskins as a linebacker from 1987-92. During his career, he helped the Redskins win two Super Bowls. Caldwell will sign autographs at the fundraiser from 6-7:30 p.m.

Silent auction items include an assortment of sports memorabilia from the Washington Capitals, Nationals, Redskins and Wizards. Items up for grabs include an NHL hockey stick signed by the Washington Capitals center Nicklas Backstrom and an NBA jersey signed by Washington Wizards guard John Wall.
Tickets for the event are $35 in advance or $ 40 at the door. Funds raised support WRAP’s fight against drunk driving and underage drinking in Greater Washington. Tickets and more information are available at www.wrap.org.
