Video: Bike Thief Caught On Surveillance Video In Fairfax City

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — A man was captured on a Ring video stealing a bicycle from under the deck of a home in Fairfax City. This incident happened Tuesday at 4:51 p.m.

The video, which was posted to the Neighbors app, shows a man with long black hair enter the fenced-in backyard of a home in the Limewood Mews neighborhood. He walks across the lawn and onto the patio under the home's deck. After lifting up the kickstand by hand, he then picks up and spins the bike around and walks it across the grass. Man and bike then disappear from view.

"The bike was my son’s Trek bike," said homeowner Edwin Donovan, whose Ring Stick-Up Cam caught the thief in action. "I have shared the video with Fairfax City police and have made a report on it. I’m hopeful the subject can be identified because of the great video."

The suspect was wearing blue jeans, a white long-sleeved shirt, and black sneakers with a white tread. A yellow folder was also stuck in the back of his blue jeans.
