Central Fairfax Chamber Of Commerce To Host Women Owned Business EXPO

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Businesswoman Hildie Carney will be the keynote speaker at the upcoming Women-Owned Business EXPO & Luncheon hosted by the Central Fairfax Chamber of Commerce's Women Mean Business Network.

The event will take place on Thursday, March 30, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., at the American Legion Post 177 located at 3939 Oak St. in Fairfax.

In 1964, Carney moved to the Country Club Hills neighborhood and joined the Fairfax Ferns Garden Club, according to a CFCC release. Over the years, she was involved in church, school, and city committees, serving on the Boards of the Commission for Women, Human Services, Downtown Fairfax Coalition, Historic Fairfax City, Inc., and others. The Fairfax City Commission for Women named Carney its 2022 Woman of Influence.

A former naval officer's wife, Carnie married her hometown sweetheart, following him around the country on each new assignment. She's the mother of four and has many grandchildren.

Admission for the EXPO costs $30/$15 (no lunch) for chamber investors, $40/$25 for introductory members, and $50/$35 for "future" chamber members. Admission for walk-ins is $60. Walk-ins are not encouraged and attendees are asked to register in advance. Refunds will not be given to no-shows. Gentlemen are welcome to attend.

Women-owned business who wish to show off their goods and services as part of the EXPO can reserve a table at three price levels:

• Chamber Investors—$30
• Introductory Members — $40
• “Future” Chamber Members — $50

Each exhibitor will be able to reserve one 6-foot table and two chairs. Access to electricity is limited and exhibitors are responsible for bringing their own table covering.
