Child Porn Conviction Leads To 20 Years In Jail For Fairfax Man
A Fairfax man was sentenced in federal court Wednesday to 20 years in prison for receiving, promoting and soliciting child pornography.
ALEXANDRIA, VA — A Fairfax man was sentenced in federal court Wednesday to 20 years in prison for receiving, soliciting and promoting child pornography, according to a U.S. Department of Justice release.
Christopher Robert Sueiro, 40, was convicted of downloading images and videos that depicted children as young as 4 being sexually abused, according to court documents.
Sueiro, who also was convicted of using a peer-to-peer network to download child sexual abuse material (CSAM), was a member of a Darknet hidden service website that trafficked in CSAM involving pre-teen boys, according to court documents. On the site, Sueiro solicited and promoted CSAM images and videos. He also tried to receive images from other website users.

Over the course of four years, Sueiro had amassed thousands of videos and images of CSAM, according to court documents. His electronic devices also contained instructions of how someone could obtain child pornography online.
Law enforcement discovered Sueiro's child pornography offenses when they searched his digital devices during an unrelated investigation involving online threats.

“For years, this defendant used the internet, including the dark web, to solicit, obtain and promote images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of children,” said Raj Parekh, acting U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, in a release. “The trafficking of child pornography is egregious and repugnant behavior, and as today’s sentence demonstrates, will be met with serious consequences in EDVA. We are grateful to everyone who worked tirelessly on this case to secure a measure of justice on behalf of society’s most vulnerable victims.”
This case was investigated by agents from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations. Officers from the City of Fairfax Police Department also investigated the case with the assistance of the High Technology Investigative Unit of the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section.
Sueiro's case was brought forward as part of Project Safe Childhood, a DOJ initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
