City Of Fairfax Recognized For Excellence In Fleet Operations
The City of Fairfax has been included in NAFA FLEETSolutions magazine's list of The 100 Best Fleets.

The City of Fairfax has been included in NAFA FLEETSolutions magazine’s list of The 100 Best Fleets, achieving a ranking of 98 out of more than 38,000 fleets in North America and thousands more in South America. The mechanics in the city’s Fleet Maintenance Division maintain a fleet of 408 vehicles and 207 pieces of motorized equipment at the city’s Pickett Road property yard.

Tom Johnson, author of The 100 Best Fleets in the Americas, said in a letter to fleet manager Lee Hall, “To me, you are unsung heroes. Thank you. You lead by example. Your outstanding application reflected fresh thinking with new ideas. You are helping create the future for fleets in the Americas.”
With approximately 4,500 parts in stock, the Fleet Maintenance Division performs nearly all repairs in-house. The shop averages 102 preventative maintenance services each month and an additional 33 air brake inspections, as well as safety and emission inspections, custom installs, and other repairs that keep the city’s fleet running safely and efficiently with minimal downtime.

The team collectively holds 64 National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications, including three Master ASE Mechanics and one Triple Master Mechanic. The shop is recognized by ASE as a Blue Seal of Excellence certified repair facility.
The 100 Best Fleets in the Americas program has recognized peak-performing fleet operations in the Americas for 20 years.
