FAIRFAX CITY, VA — The Fairfax City Council cordially invites you to check out an autonomous driving 2019 Jeep at 5:45 p.m. July 12 at City Hall.

This event will also include a brief explanation of autonomous vehicle technology at 5:45 p.m. July 12 at City Hall, and attendees can meet researchers from The MITRE Corporation’s Robotics and Autonomous Systems Department.
The custom-adapted SUV is outfitted with sensors, analytic and data recorders, and powerful computer processors to test and document new autonomy technologies and technology combinations. The Jeep was developed in MITRE’s Mobile Autonomous Systems Experimentation (MASE) Laboratory in McLean, Va.

The MASE Jeep will be parked in the circular driveway on the north side of City Hall. While the vehicle will not move, the glimpse into the future of autonomous driving promises to be a moving one.
