Capital Sports Audio Network Launches

FAIRFAX, VA – Capital Sports Audio, a multimedia website providing content throughout North America, is announcing its April 1 launch as a comprehensive source for sports reporting. CSA is owned and operated by the reporters themselves, creating a co-op that allows the network to provide top-quality coverage.

CSA will publish nationwide postgame audio and video reports of all major sports, including voice work, sound bites, and raw clips of interviews from players and coaches.

“Our audio coverage will be second to none,” says Chicago reporter and board member David Schuster. “Our goal is to provide the largest amount of sports coverage available to radio stations, including all NFL games, a majority of the MLB, NBA, and NHL schedule and most college basketball and football games involving top-10 teams. We’ll also handle all NASCAR events and provide audio from every major golf and tennis tournament, the Olympics, and World Cup soccer.”

All video content will be available free of charge on the capitalsportsaudio.com website. Content will include 3-4-minute postgame podcasts, postgame interviews and late-breaking sports news.

Postgame audio content will be available on a subscription basis to radio stations. It will include a wrap, a drop, a postgame cut, and raw sound from a star player or a head coach from that game. CSA will also provide voice work for all major sports stories each day.

“So many audio networks have either closed up shop or reduced their coverage for station subscribers in recent years,” says Denver reporter and board member Bruce Morton. “This reduction places a greater burden on stations to find trustworthy sources for their sports news. We are ready to fill that vacuum and have the capability to emerge as the best source. We are one of the few networks to provide voiced reports.”

Select audio “wraps” will be available on the free main page of capitalsportsaudio.com but the heart of CSA’s coverage will be available to radio stations and websites on a subscription basis.

“CSA will have various audio subscription packages to suit the needs of all stations,” says Milwaukee reporter and CSA board member Chuck Freimund. “Stations can purchase our entire catalog of coverage, or they can pick and choose the type of coverage based on each sport or each region. This allows stations big and small to determine their subscription service based on their needs.”

CSA is a division of Capital Media of Virginia LLC, which plans to extend its coverage to entertainment and news at a later date.
