Clerk Seriously Injured During Convenience Store Robbery In Fairfax City

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — City of Fairfax police arrested a juvenile suspect who they say seriously assaulted a convenience store employee on Monday morning.

Officers responded around 5 a.m. to investigate the report of a robbery at the 7-Eleven located at 3965 Jermantown Road. Upon arrival, they interrupted the robbery and took a juvenile suspect into custody, according to the incident report.

"Investigation revealed the juvenile entered the business, confronted the clerk, and repeatedly assaulted him, striking him multiple times in the face, while demanding he open the register and safe," according to the report.

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue took the clerk to a nearby hospital to be treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect, who was uninjured, did not imply that he was armed, according to police.

The suspect was taken to Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center where officers obtained a petition for robbery for the suspect and served him with a detention order, according to police.
